Needlework Monday – Transformation of an old sweater
Hi, Steemit!!!
Today is the #NeedleworkMonday!!! I already wrote about my black sweater which I do not like and which I wanted to change.
Now I finally found time for him. I decided to make a cardigan and remove my sleeves. For this I marked the middle with a thread.
On both sides of the mark, we bend the fabric and make one row of crocheted half-columns.
We take the scissors and cut at the mark in the center. I was not at all afraid to cut the sweater because I did not wear it anyway. If I do not get what I'm thinking, then I will lose only my time :)
Next stage I am engaged in sleeves. I removed them more than they were - the same method - took the piece off the back and front parts of
the sweater.
In photos, the sweater looks terrible, but believe me, it's not so bad :))) To revive this a little, I decided to add blue yarn. I like the way it looks.
To date, this is my progress in the work and I'm not sure that I will succeed. I continue to work further :)
I wish you creative inspiration and look forward to your work !!!

That's wonderful - I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make out of this sweater! Especially with the blue yarn - that should go really well with the dark sweater.
Kudos to you attacking it with scissors. I'm thinking of doing something similar: I'd love to have more cardigans but I hate purling - my purl stitches don't come out even. So I'm considering knitting a top down raglan in the round and then making a cardi out of it. Seeing your work I think I will try this first with a store bought one before I botch up the result of weeks of knitting :)
you're right! more often I cut exactly bought sweaters but not the ones that I knitted myself :) I used to never knit anything by the method of raglan from top to bottom. but reading your posts and girls I feel the urge to definitely try to do it
Oh you did it again, the sweater surgery :-D I would have gotten a heart attack cutting the sweater. I am curious where your upcling process will lead you.
By the way @needleworkmoday has initiated a upcyling contest. Perhaps you could use your sweater as an entry <3

oh, my dear, you again made me laugh :)))) sweater surgery !!!!! hee hee did not flinch the hand of the surgeon when he cut it :)))) Thanks for the suggestion. it seems to me that this competition is more of a global transformation than a sweater in a cardigan. and I will not finish the job by that time (if at all I can do something normal with this) :)))
You're very brave to cut it, @tali72. I'm curious to see how it changes and also feel encouraged to cut a few jumpers :D :D :D
if you are bored or do not like them, or their shape is not very comfortable for you, then why not ?! :)))
Looks like we are all curious to see how your cardigan will turn out! We love your adventures journeys! Thank you for taking us along!! 😃
Please check out our Upcycle Challenge! Maybe you can submit this one ;)
I really hope that I will succeed and otherwise I risk disappointing all the girls :)
We have faith in you!!! 😉🤗
Congratulations @tali72! Your post has been placed in the spotlight and chosen for this weeks @NeedleWorkMonday Featured Post!

I like the blue on the black @tali72. I can’t wait to see the outcome 🙂
This is so true! Thank you for the wisdom. I will remember your words the next time I have an urge to alter a garment i no longer wear.
