Recycling fabric from old clothes is a really good idea - especially buying clothes for their fabric, rather than to wear directly :) I was struck by an idea they had on the The Great Sewing Bee to create a new garment that incorporated fabric from several different recycled garments. And there is always patchwork, ragrugs and stuffing for the smallest scraps.
