DIY: Crochet sleep mask

We know the importance of a restful sleep, of a good rest, but there are people who have difficulty sleeping with light, that's why a crocheted woven sleeping mask, of original appearance and soft texture is the ideal solution. It is a useful and beautiful crochet project to make a gift.

Happy #needleWorkMonday. I hope you are well, having good times and enjoying what you like to do, involving all the senses and experiencing healthy benefits.

How to knit a crochet mask?
Let's make two circles

1.- Let's start with the first circle. Start your circle with a slipknot. Then make 12 pillar rounds. Finish the round making a slip stitch.

2.- Then, work two pillar in each pillars until complete 24 pillars. Finish the round making a slip stitch.

3.- Work two pillars in the same pillar, then one pillar in the same pillar. We continue with two pillars in the same pillar, then one pillar in the same pillar, and so on until we complete the round. Finish the round making a slip stitch.

4.- Next, work two pillars in each pillar, then two pillars in the same pillar. We continue with two pillars in each pillar and then two pillars in the same pillar, and so on until we complete the round. Finish the round making a slip stitch. Make the second circle, following steps 1 to 4.

5.- If it is your preference, in another color, knit a single crochet on each pillar, in each of the circles. Then, join one circle to another by means of a chain of two chainlets.

6.- Work around the two circles in each single crochet a single crochet. Finish the round making a slip stitch.

7.- To finish, on each side we weave a chain of 100. Make three chains and weave in each chain a pillar.

It's my first diagram made with a free software. It is true and I can always take a picture of my pattern book, that has its charm and beauty, but what I was looking for was something clearer to attach to my tutorials. I am in my beginnings of learning in the tool. When I learn it well I tell you.
You can decorate the masks. They can be decorated with buttons, pieces of crochet, buttons, sequins, among others. They can also be embroidered.

This is brilliant. I sleep like the dead but I know a few people who need to block out the light.

I love the pics and how you've included the graph pattern. Thank you so much for that :D

Excellent news :D

Very clear explanation, photographs and diagram @jicrochet :)

  • the word 'pillar' would be like treble or half treble right ?

Gracias. Sabes, dudé con la palabra. Una amiga me dice que es la traducción al inglés. Sigo investigando al respecto. Cómo sería en inglés realizar tres pilares o varetas?

@jicrochet, yo diría : 'make 3 htr' (BrE) or 'make 3 hdc' (AmE)

Gracias, gracias, gracias @cryptocariad. Excelente información. Disculpa no te haya respondido antes. Ando muy full con trabajo en la oficina. He estado trabajando hasta las 9:00 p.m, inclusive los fines de semana. Saludos. Qué estés muy bien!
