NeedleworkMonday! This post is not about felting.

I flew to Chicago on Sunday and passed the time working on my purple scarf!

It certainly is getting close to done, I cannot wait to wash and block it!

Before I flew out I took @lordvdr out to breakfast and we checked on our geocache near the brewpub. It is tied down so it won't wander off when kids find it.

These flowers were really purple, they help to hide the cache-

It was pretty cool that afternoon when I flew out of Missoula, about 60 degrees and overcast. With warnings from the pilot that there were storms ahead... I rather like the way that storms look from above!

My layover was in Minneapolis St Paul and due to the storms, I did not get into Chicago until about 11 pm... with a 45 minute drive to my hotel... after waiting for my luggage and taking a shuttle to the rental car center... yep. Got to the hotel about 12:30 am... no problem... my class is at 8 am... and I have to meet my co-trainer at 7:20 to set up the room... sigh

My class finished up today about 4 pm so I could wander around the lake near my hotel before dinner. And yes, I grabbed a few caches on my way to dinner... one was damaged and the other wasn't in a nice spot, just a jar under a bush.

These trees have a pretty cool bark!

After a little work I ran out to dinner at Millers Alehouse. Ok food but nothing special. Had a beer called Lu, a Kolsch from a local Naperville brewery, it was decent.

Then I heard some thunder and the evening storms had arrived. I made it back to my hotel before the weather really hit... was running in as the rain started. So I decided to write up my post and watch the storm...

As I said... this post is not about felting... mainly because @lordvdr has taken up the felting idea and made a few things while I was out of town last week. The toy dice has been very popular with the kitties!

Happy #needleworkmonday! Have a great week!

Great and varied photos @jamethiel! The pattern of the scarf looks very neat ... not long to go 😊

Thank you! Since I messed up and switched the pattern direction, I have been swapping direction every 40 rows to keep it looking cool.

The scarf is looking great! You must be so tired though. I hope you get some rest before you have to fly again!

Thank you! I have a few hours of work to do tonight, then I will call it good. This time of year is my busy season at work and I always have something to do. On the Plus side- tomorrow amd Thursday are planned to be dinner with friends who live in the area!

Oh that's good, that you have friends to visit so the trip can be fun too!

Yep, it it wasn't still fun, I would have stopped traveling years ago!

The scarf is looking great! Glad your trip is going well, and safe travels back home!

Beautiful. I look forward to seeing the blocked result. Ya your post is not about felting but I like your bag too ;)

love your pictures

You make work-travel sound nice... beautiful landscapes, searching for hidden treasures and knitting :-D I almost believed you.
Or perhaps traveling in the US is different from Germany... my travel was more like planned 6 hours of relaxed knitting in the train but spending instead 11 hours without air-condition in an overstuffed compartment with malfunctioning toilets. Every time! Then arriving and noticing that my apartment is 4 km away from the next shop without public transportation, no WLAN and a failing mobile connection. This were the joys of working at beautiful (secluded) places. Everyone thought it is so nice to teach in a nature reservation or directly at a beach... but getting there and the infrastructure... sigh.... ok I am laughing at my whining... sorry
I hope you come back well and have time to reconquer your felting ;-D

It isn't always perfect but I try to go with the flow most of the time. Often the infrastructure is lacking and the weather is terrible. But having a project to work on and a book to read always helps.
And sometimes the geocache has been destroyed by a lawn mower and all you can do is gather the pieces and hope you didn't miss anything important in the mud.

Not the adventure you want, but the one you got, so you go with the flow and hope for a fun one at the next stop. :)
I might never get to felt, but at least he is having fun.

I didn't know you can bring crafting needle on the airplane. Last time I went to California, I had to send them in a suitcase checked in...You have everything under the rainbow in this post and I love all purple things.

In the US you can travel with knitting needles, crochet hooks and very small scissors without security issues. I fly about 4 times a month for the last 15 years and have not had any issues with my crafting stuff on flights.
Your starting country may have different security rules though.
Thank you!

So many beautiful pictures that you took, I love them all, they are definitely desktop background worthy.
Please do show us your scarf progress, I hope you enjoyed your tutoring program ☺
