Another style of cover to decorate the baby's crib.

in #needleworkmonday6 years ago (edited)

Whenever I start a baby trousseau I am filled with a lot of emotion, this time it was Lucas' turn, a few days ago I made him the blanket and this time I made him the covers for his pillows, one with the Guardian Angel Prayer and the other with the prince's name and crown.
As in a previous post I did the process of developing the Angel holster and blanket, today I bring you the step by step how to develop another model of holster, you will see that the step by step is so simple that you will not hesitate a minute to make them from now on for their children, grandchildren or nephews simply to give away.

Elaboration step by step...

First step.

Let's start with cutting the main fabric, a rectangle measuring 28x38 cm. The fabric I used is called Batista Bordada, but you can also use piqué or mil rayas fabric.

Second step.

We cut the Etamine fabric that measures 17x 28 cm and make the embroidery of our preference.

Here I leave the pattern that I used to make the crown, but I tell you that there are many models and other sizes, the letter is of your choice, you can also put the full name instead of putting only the initials.

When we have done the embroidery we place it on the main fabric and put lace embroidered strip or any lace of our choice and pass the seam straight.

Third step.

We cut two squares in fabric batista that have a measure of 26x28 cm. On the side where it measures 26 cm we make a straight seam folding the fabric inwards on the reverse side.

Fourth step.

Facing right with right of the main fabric and these pictures of the previous step, we fix with pins, we pass a straight and zigzag seam so that the fabric is not unraveled.

Then we turn around making sure before removing all the pins, and boala, we have the final result. We pass the iron not too hot, remember that they are very simple fabrics and can be burned.

I am very happy because little by little I have done the little things for the trousseau of Lucas, his mommy is already in the sweet wait and does not see the time to have everything ready, so I had to take time where I do not have to go to elaborate everything and be able to take the step by step with photographs and I do not miss any detail.

As always very grateful to everyone for their support, cross stitch embroidery is very nice but today the technology has invented an embroidery machines that do beautiful work so you do not have to limit yourself to do these things if you want. If you know how to machine sew then cheer up and don't stop, remember the phrase it says: ***The limit is the universe.

Till the next smile friends, bye bye...

Hi @carolinacardoza , your baby trousseau is really beautiful and looks really professionally made. I am sure Lucas' mom will be delighted to receive this as a baby shower present.

I've seen those embroidery machines for sale, but I suppose making something like this by hand for a friend or family member is so much more special...

It's really so beautiful!

Que trabajo tan hermoso, son detalles hermosos que visten cualquier tela. Saludos

It looks lovely - we don't have tradition for such a thing here in Germany.

It is very well put together and so lovely! Handmade will always win my heart over store bought items. The care and love that is put into custom made items is UNMATCHABLE ~ ❤️

Thanks so much for the step by step instructions.

Te quedo hermoso!
