User base for Steem will determine its success. User base grows when new and original people or content arrive. Because the platform grows and new speculation capital arrives, it's highly and relatively more valuable to appreciate new people and original content.

I've seen introduction posts that are a short paragraph long with not much to them at all getting $1000-2000 - and providing little-to-no value. This doesn't work if the point of the system is to reward value. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own vote, but there's definitely some system upgrades to be made if this keeps happening...

"original people and content" I like that idea.
