#2 NBA Basketball Surprises Week 2 ( Haas News)

in #nba8 years ago

Just like that another week past in the NBA here are mine surprise players of the week!
This NBA weekly will take you from East to West in the NBA, from triple doubles to great shooting these players shined bright this week.
Here is my top 5 for the week! Well done Rookies!

Donovan Mitchell
Is it bad luck to get drafted as 13th? The Utah Jazz used their selection to add Donovan Mitchell and send Trey Lyles and Tyler Lydon to the Denver Nuggets.
Mitchell played at Louisville for two years and as many athletes he is very skilled in sports in general. He played baseball and soccer but decided Basketball was more his passion.
Last week Utah only lost to the Raptors and the team is off to a good start in the West.
I picked Mitchell this week because he was able to score 25 points against Toronto in a loss and 28 against Portland in a win!
Keep up the hard work! Great play this week buddy.

Ben Simmons
Okay this is maybe not really a surprise pick being the number one pick in the draft one year ago, but remember he suffered that injury that kept him from playing. So technically he is still eligible to become rookie of the year this year!
He sure made a statement this week, the 76ers did not lose this week because of his great play and Reddicks outside shots!
He almost had two triple doubles this week, not bad for a 21 year old! Expect him to be in this list more often if he keeps on playing like this.

Jaylen Brown
Last week Tatum made it to the top performer list, this week there is another Celtic that did just great.
Hayward will not play this season so they need other people to fill the gap, Jaylen did just that! The Celtics are 7-2 for the season and are pace for a nice play-off spot. Having two players that fill the gap for now the Celtics should be fine!

Malik Monk
I love Basketball even though its hard to follow being in Europa let along to talk about with friends. Luckily the NBA league pass helps me to watch whenever I want. When I did this weeks research to prepare this list I was surprised with what Malik Monk accomplished this week! For me he was really flying under the radar. But I know him now!
The Hornets beat the Spurs and the Bucks and he had 25 points to make sure the Bucks could not win that game.
Very surprising but he deserved this week’s spot on the list!

Kyle Zuma
The Lakers are looking for their identity and looking for young to help them with their new culture. I named Deng in another blog and still believe he is very important to guide all the young guys.
He has shooting and is very athletic, and this week he showed it! Scoring 20 points on average and grabbing 7 rebounds.

Pre-season is almost done? Im not really fan with basketball but I do watch them in TV.

The season started earlier this year, so they are two weeks in so far. so i deceded to post about the weekly stars every week

All the guys mentioned above have been playing great ball, but I think Simmons is far and away the clear choice for ROY. The Celtics thought they were toast when Hayward went down, but Brown and Tatum have stepped up nicely. They are the opposite of the Cavs: they are young while the Cavs are old. Check out Washington too. Fun to watch and Otto Porter Jr. is earning his fat new paycheck every game!

Cavs should be fine when they have less injuries, but picked Boston to win the East before the season started and looks like that could happen.
Washington is a good team, but i suport the Raptors so its hard to cheer for them. Will prepare a list every week! thanks for your response
