Sweet Gum Trees
Beautiful Autumn Views - Week 2
Here are some American Sweet Gum Trees in one of my neighbor's yard.
Th ere are many other names these trees go by including hazel pine, sweet gum, redgum, and star-leaved gum.
Every year this variety of tree has some of the best colors of all the trees in our part of Texas!
I say this because at times there are green, yellow, red and orange leaves all at the same time!

At us this tree is called hazel, its leaves really play different colors. Very beautiful.

I wasn't even sure why it was called a sweet gum tree so I just looked up some information here that says a man in 1753 name it for the "fragrant terebinthine juice or gum which exudes from the tree."
I love the brilliant blue sky that makes the orange pop out.
