Purple Lantana - Plant of The Week
Plant of the week in my flower garden is this purple lantana.
It is still happily blooming, since it bloomed later than my other lantana plants.
It's also against a southern wall of my house; which is a nice warm place in the late fall!
Lantana doesn't like to bloom in the middle of the summer because it's usually over 95 degrees every afternoon!
Another great thing about lantana is it will lose all of its leaves this winter, when the temperature is at freezing or below, but will come back next spring from the roots!

That's a lovely color. It sounds like a hearty flower to survive the winter like that.
Yes, and they can take over a flower garden if you don't trim them back every year and/or dig out the roots if you don't want it to take over!

Ohhhh, it's beautiful. I have not been able to cultivate them already, because there are no seeds in the Venezuelan market.
But I'll keep looking.
