Metamorphic Life!
I rescued this Pipevine Swallowtail chrysalis from the butterfly house where I volunteer on June 1st.
It had been installed in the chrysalis box that we have there and I noticed it had fallen down in the bottom of the box.
Well it was going to have a tough time emerging if it wasn’t hanging like it is in nature.
I brought it home and used a tiny dot of hot glue, from the cooler variety of glue guns, to attach it to a stick.
I placed it on my back porch in my butterfly net habitat.
After about 7 days it fell off the stick and I decided to just leave it be and see what happened.
The good news is it emerged on Sunday June 9th as I was drinking my cup of coffee before church.
Pipevine Swallowtail
It was already out by the time I checked on it, but I got to enjoy if for an hour or so and when I went out to see if it had flown away before leaving for church, I saw it fly out and into a tree. Notice it looks quite different when the wings are closed vs open!
Have a Blessed Day!

That is really cool. It was really creative the way you used glue to mimic nature.

I love the word chrysalis (in spanish it's crisálida) it implies such transformation. I often includes such metaphormosis in my songs as metaphor.
I'd like to breed moth again one day.
By the way that little fairy hatching is beautiful.
