Today I'm sharing my visit to Kalam one of my favorite hill place of Pakistans for this contest .

Kalam Valley is the most famous place to visit. It is situated in sawat kohistan ,district of Sawat ,khaber pakhtoon khwah province Pakistan. If you want to enjoy nature's beauty you must visit there.Kalam has high mountains, lush forests, picturesque valleys, stunning lakes, and other natural attractions.

Kalam valley is situated at altitude of 2000 meter above the sea level, it's weather is extremely fresh and cold. It's high mountains are covered with snow. It's overall beautiful and weather leave fresh memories in mind for log time. I visited there in June . The maximum temperature 17°C and minimum 6 °C in summer. In winters temperature goes down to - 11°C and the whole area is coverd with snow.

The peak time to visit this place is Summer, June, July . But in my suggestion best time is April, march ,or September/October. In these months there are less number of visitors and you can get good hotels at affordable prices. To enjoy real beauty of the kalam you must visit before October, you can enjoy fresh and cool weather, riverside, waterfall, greenery of valley and forests .

There are many famous beautiful place at Kalam to visit likebMahodand Lake, Kalam Town, Ushu Forest, Matalan, Blue Water Point, Kalam Summer Festival, Janshai Meadows, Matiltan Waterfall, Utrar, Gabral, Green Top Kalam View Point, Kandol Lake, Izmis Lake, Shahi Ground, Dhamaka Lake etc. I didn't explore all this area.

To visit above all sites you have to rent a land cruiser or jeep to move up at hill places.

^{Ushu Forest}

A beautiful forest. It is a great place for camping. You can get camps on rent too. I enjoyed the greenery of this place. I visited jungle first time in life. We didn't go deep inside the jungle. If you are traveling with group of friends you will surely enjoy camping there.

^{Kalam Town}

It's a beautiful point of Kalam. Mostly population of occupied here. You can find many hotels at this place to enjoy it's greenery. I visited many different places during my trip but this was most peaceful and pleasant for me.

^Gabral

It's another mesmerizing natural beauty. It's only few km from Utrar and road to the Gabral is smooth so you can reach there without fear. I recommend you to visit this place too.

^{Mohodand lake}

Mohodand lake is famous and beautiful spot. You will surely love it's quietness. The peace at this point can't be described in words. You can enjoy only by sitting beside lake for hours. There are many activities at lake site like you can enjoy boating, horse riding and swings at lake. Many local restaurants at lake site they are selling fresh fried fish from the lake.

^Utrar

When you visit kalam must go Utrar and it's surrounding places. It's another wonderful picnic spot approx 16km from kalam. You can enjoy a day long picnic at this place having view of snow caped mountain at 2200 altitude, flowing stream, cold water, fresh air.

^{Dhamaka Lake}

After few kilometers from Ushu forest this lake starts, I love this point most. A blue water lake of cold water flowing through mountain to valley. Extremely beautiful view can be captured from this point.

At many places stream are flowing and connecting to lakes. The water of these streams are crystal clear and cold, you can drink it. These are some beautiful picnic spots at kalam & you can enjoy nature's beauty

Local Cousin of Kalam :

Special foods of this place are karhai, polao, Chappli kabab, Tikka (chicken green Tikka and Mutton Tikka), Namkeen gosht etc. I tried many local food but I love namkeen gosht (salty meat) and Tikka (BBQ) most.

Expenses of 4 days:

Travelling tickets by bus	9000	250 Steem

I visited there 1 year before so the price or cost that I shared would be different from today's rate.
