A TRIP TO THE HONEYCOMB FISHING LAKE

Allow me to take you all on a short journey through the woods to what is considered my honeycomb hideout of fishing spots. The picture above is a quick snap of the entrance we use to get to this lake. While parking can be a hassle during the week but what should you expect when it’s a Veteran Hospital parking lot. The cool thing about this spot is the fact that no one is ever complaining about us parking there. Most times the employees as well as the police officers always make jokes on getting a portion of the catches.

The pathway to and around the lake is also used as a walking/jogging trail so police callboxes are along they trail if an emergency occur. While it may seems a bit scary when you first enter the trail, I can ensure you all that it’s safe. Well you may get chased by a squirrel every now and then but hey what you expect when you walking through they neighborhood. Lmao just kidding about the squirrels.

Once you have made it to the suspended bridge, your halfway there. This is where it really get fun because I love to make the bridge rock when me and the kids going out over it just to get a laugh out of the baby girl reaction. Once you cross over, the trail become a small paved road that’s wide enough for a car to come through. Only law enforcement and park workers are allowed to use this road with vehicles.

This waterfall scenery has a very nice view and often time we see couples taking photos at the waterfall because of its natural beauty. Once the waterfall is within eyesight, that indicates the lake is right around the bend of the trail and its opens up to a awesome view.

Again this is one fishing spot where I know we are guaranteed to catch multiple fish while there, so that’s why I gave it the name “The Honeycomb Lake.” This particular time we were short for time due to it being a school night so we stay a few hours until the rain came. The only downside to this lake is it has no public restrooms around so be sure to go before you arrive.
