Flower Colors and its Meaning

in #nature7 years ago

I have not seen a lilac rose not until yesterday. It is beautiful, these flowers are all beautiful. Wondering how lilac flowers form? Does it colored artificially?

These are the pictures of yesterday at the flower corner in the supermarket. I am glad they allow me to take a photos of them.

According to research, flower changes their color, or form their colors through many factors, some of these are:

  1. Temperature
  2. Graft reversion
  3. Disease

Sometimes, science can be another thing to change color of the flower, through the process of dyeing.

Different colors from the flowers denotes meaning.

red - love, courage, romantic and passion.
white - purity, innocence and humility.
pink - admiration, gentleness, appreciation.

Artificially colored flower get to fade quickly compare to the naturaly colored ones. But whatever color they are, each one is unique and beautiful, like the rest of us.

What is your favourite color of flowers? Me.... It will be pink tulips.

Great pictures. Did you take them?

Also, were you aware that there’s an entire industry in rose cultivation and breeding? Most of the colors, including the Lavender Rose, were created through selective breeding, and are often termed tea roses or hybrids. There is an abundance of botanical writings on selective rose breeding, it being one of the oldest gardening hobbyist genres. Many years ago, when I was an undergrad and the University of Memphis, I was actually attended a competitive rose exhibition for selective rose breeders. It was very interesting with a stunning range of blooms on exhibit.

That said… I don’t think I could pick one favorite type of flower. I want a yard full of a wide variety of flowers and flowering plants and trees.

The rose cultivation reminds me of Hunger Games :)

I live in a place that is famous for its flowers but I am not aware of rose exhibition. We do have events that showcase different flowers but no exhibition. That would be interesting.

The more color the merrier :D

This exhibition was in Memphis, TN, in a very upscale mall atrium. The exhibited plants were the finalists for a competition. The whole mall smelled amazing!

I bet it did smell great.

Yes, i took them from my phone cam.

Wow, thank you for the information. I've learn a lot from that. I thought those lavender flowers are a different species of rose flowers.

And bet that exhibition you went is a paradise of flowers. Such a bliss! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and for answering my question through my post. Have a great day! Xx

I’m glad my esoteric knowledge is of use to someone. 😜 I have so much trivia floating around my brain… you wouldn’t believe how crowded it is in there! LOL 😎
