LITTLE BROWN SKINK PHOTOS

in #nature5 years ago

I love living where lizards are.

As the temperature heats up, many of the reptiles come back out. As you walk around our property or in our garden, you can hear the rustle of these little lizards running to hide from us. Most of the members of this species that we find are only a couple of inches long. We like having them around as they eat small insects, so we encourage them to inhabit our garden. When we found one recently, I tried to get some closeup shots of it with my oldest daughter. Here are the result.

I just LOVE The adorable little Skinkies!!
If you look at this shot it kind of looks like a little snake!

🦄 Have a blessed day!!

You look familiar... do I know you? ;)

As a kid I never thought MN had any kind of lizards living up here. It gets down right frosty in the winters... But, I was wrong! These lil guys are found up here too. Usually they are grey in color though. Biggest one I've seen in person was about 8 or 9 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter. Generally around here they are about half that size -and super fast. They sure can move!

Great shots!!
Skinks are cool. Skink is fun to say. :D
