The Mountains Beckon Series #5

An old abandoned cabin deep in the Cascade Mountains.

This is a daily series I'm doing where I briefly showcase a beautiful spot in nature that I've come across through my travels. I hope you enjoy it!

This is a cabin that appears to have been forgotten about for some years. My friends and I discovered it while driving through a remote section of the Cascades in the spring of 2017. The roads we were cruising were extremely washed out, and even with a high clearance 4WD vehicle, we nearly got stuck several times. It was all worth it in the end, though.

The cabin stood at the bottom of a hilly field. We peeked inside and saw that the structure was caving in on itself. Carefully, we checked out the small interior, making sure not to fall through the rotting floorboards. I love exploring abandoned places; there's a mysterious quality to them.
