The Hoary-headed Grebe (Three Photos)
This is the Hoary-headed Grebe (Poliocephalus poliocephalus). They like generally like to forage well out from shore in open water where the dive for invertebrates. On a recent visit to Springlawn Lagoon at Narawntapu National park, they came in close enough to the bird hide to allow for a few reasonable shots.
These were taken with a Canon 7D and the Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L Lens.
