A Parasitic Wasp

This wasp belong to the Ichneumonidae. I believe it is one of the "Banded Pupa Parasite Wasps", ( Gotra sp). This one was on the window of a bird hide at the Narawntapu National Park. These wasps parasitise moth pupae.

Looks nasty but its just for laying eggs (an ovipositor). These ones cannot actually sting you.

Do they use cabbage moths as hosts? That would be nice.

I don't know if they are fussy about hosts. I can tell you there are plenty of cabbage moths here so if they do parasitise them, they are not doing a very good job :-)
