What are you focusing on? Is this a picture of a pine tree or a small temple village? Or is this a picture of a spider web? The complexity and rush of urban society has all our heads spinning. You need a place in a city to sit down and rest and escape back to years passed. Inside the trees and even in some of the human made structures you should be able to find an escape to yesteryear.

There should be some place you can go to and you forget what century you are in. Even though you are in the city the city noises are gone and the smell of the forest is stronger than the smell of the sewer. Buildings are the same as they were a hundred years ago and the pace of life is slower than the dripping of dew from the trees.

In our neighborhood we have several temples like this. One of those temples is Yong-Am-Sa. This is a small temple but boasts of a natural surrounding. Another is Bong-Won-Sa. This temple is rather large and monks there make effort to keep harmony with nature.

The only thing keeping me in the 21st century is that little red fire extinguisher. I'm thankful its there. And of course my cell phone. Without it I couldn't bring you this picture.
