@maninayton Comes Across An Old Favourite.
One of the joys of walking the dogs at this time of year is coming across one of Britain's more beautiful flowers, the Early-purple orchid (Orchis mascula)
It lies dotted along the field margin like bright little purple sticks of candy.
I've never bent down to smell them but apparently they have a sweet smell initially but then turn into a rank scent reminiscent of tomcat urine!
Despite the unpleasant smell they are, for me, a harbinger of spring and warmer weather to come and for that will always be a firm favourite of mine.

Beautiful photos. It's a wonderful world out there if only people stopped to not only look, but truly see what is around them instead of walking hunched over a phone or chasing pokemons.
I know. It really makes me sad when I see people out on a wonderful summer day glued to their phones. I'm sure they could do without for an hour or so.
It's amazing how quickly the mobile phone progressed from being just handy to absolutely necessary - can't - leave - home - without - it.
It has unsocialised society. It distances people from reality so much so that when tragedy strikes, people now just stand around videoing and sharing online instead of helping. 🙁
I quite agree. A quick visit to YouTube will confirm that. So much of it is absolute garbage as well. Some people I know have their whole life on their phones. If ever they lost them they wouldn't know what to do. Very sad really (deep sigh and raised eyebrows!)

I love this time of year when blossoms bloom and trees fill out and grass is bright green!
We have just had snow here! Temperatures of 25 degrees last week and now down to 0 degrees. Bring back Spring.
We had a light layer of snow yesterday morning and it was chilly all day! Today it is 40 degrees. I agree! Bring back Spring!!
