#BonsaiNews: it's pissing cats and dogs

HELL hath no fury like mother nature scorned.

Bob's pot just broke after a successful replant just two weeks ago and now, had an emergency replant back into his old pot in the pouring rain.

This was Bob two weeks ago:

The headline was no joke, its coming down hard at the moment and the pool is already running over.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old pot has seen its arse after being moved out of the rain - my fault purely because Bob's weight with the added water was not a good idea.

Luckily, Bob's roots had not yet set despite the two weeks having gone by.

That is a very thick vertical break. That soil looks very thick with clay. Do you think it was lacking drainage?

Old pot, possible it had minor cracks around the circumference of the pot. A proper mixture was used so I highly doubt it was due to major water retention. Thinking that the cause may be attributed to micro cracks along with the added weight of the water.

Also, lots of tiny stones were placed at the bottom of the pot. Those would easily add to the weight
