#FicusGinseng: They said Bob would never survive
WHEN I got Bob five years ago as a five-year-old ficus ginseng, his entire stem had been broken in half.
His roots were so poorly maintained and no matter where I went for advice, they said he would die within a few weeks.
I decided to risk tying up and chopping off as much of Bob as was needed and today, at the age of 10, Bob is alive and well and has even blessed me with a baby ficus ginseng which was replanted two weeks or so ago.
This is Bob today in his new pot, where he will spend the next three years until he is due for another replant.
