In a distant market I found a sale of crown or giant jocotes, as these exquisite large fruits are known here, and I decided to immortalize them and share these beautiful images with you.

Generally they can be found in high areas at more than 750 Meters above sea level so they are very good in high areas of volcanic origin, and the characteristic is that they are large trees producing such delicious majestic fruits, that, as you can see, they occur in abundance in the eastern region of El Salvador in the mountainous region.

The jocotes are conical circular spheres, about 4 centimeters in circumference and 8 centimeters long, protected by a thick layer of green when tender, yellow when seasoning and red when being in optimal conditions for sweet consumption , but people consume them tender whose taste is acidic and sweet when ripe, and their fleshyness is one centimeter thick in a milky and juicy way as if it were a flan, only more fibrous, within it is a seed of hard wood texture, which does not serve to reproduce the plant but only to protect the fruit since this tree reproduces by stakes.

So touring the market of this place in the east we get the pleasant surprise of seeing the fruits in their maximum splendor and in many baskets that is where the ladies put them on sale and you can take them to consume acidic or sweet as you want, because if you wear them green you will have the joy of enjoying them longer than if you wear them mature that will not last long and you should consume them immediately.
