Turning To Drones In Time For Wildfire Season
Wildfire season is starting soon and authorities in Oregon are looking to get some help from drones in combating any problems.
By opting to use drones, the BLM has estimated that the drone, by spotting the fire early, has helped them to save tens of millions in potential damages.
Firefighters have been using drones in a variety of areas to help them try and save lives.
One way that they are really going to help is in saving these different rescue agencies potentially millions of dollars. This is because they can opt for using a drone to search different areas instead of going with a manned helicopter that is much more costly.
Between 2009 and 2017 it's estimated that at least 69 different fire departments in the US had purchased drones.
However, there is always the chance that the drone could crash in the woods though, and start another fire. Which is what happened to one drone operator recently from Arizona. But overall, they've provided tremendous value in a myriad of ways to different rescue efforts.

thanks man!:) what a journey it has been!
This is a really positive use of drones. I'm sure over time the technology will be more advanced and sophisticated.
Undoubtedly, the use of drones will help to minimize fire sources, since they will be able to access places and a different point of view from people in the location of fires.
I think other departments prone to fires should adopt this measure
excellent news for next season of fire dear friend @doitvoluntarily, thank you very much for sharing
This is a great use of drones @doitvoluntarily , and would definitely be an asset here in British Columbia Canada where we have hundreds of forest fires every summer , that get worse every year ! Thanks for sharing !👍👍upped and resteemed !

Drones present a fascinating growth market for entrepreneurs. Imaging software, controls/user-interfaces, batteries, components, etc. Really glad to see them applied in new areas away from the battlefield.
Absolutely. This post alone just gave me some fantastic uses of drones in Australia. Definitely something to research further.
Definitely. Farming has lots of uses for drones. Checking crops, water, fence lines etc.
The possibility does not escape from reality that what helps an improvement also causes significant damage. However, it should be noted that in terms of proportion; Drones have helped in many cases more than they have deteriorated situations. It is a living example for humanity and more than that, an achievement to have technology that can help us.
Good
Nice post good work .👍👍👍
Fire at all, so nice keep it up
This is awesome, this is the kind of thing that drones should actually be used for... lol
