The scanning
Mountain Gazelles spend lot of their time standing and scanning the surrounding for a possible danger. They rely both on their exceptional hearing (just look at their ears!) and on eyesight.
I've pretty good idea how not to attract attention of these shy animals. In spite of that, I regularly experience their long inquiring glance and try stay as calm and quiet as I can during those periods.
Amazing photos! How far away from the gazelle were you when you took this?
Thanks Harry! Around 10-20 meters. My usual setup is 500mm lens on crop body.
Beautifully captured, @blastik. Gorgeous creatures - and the lighting is just perfection.
Thanks a lot! Yep, the light is the key :)
They're quite cute. But It's a pity they have to always be on the look out for predators!
Yep, in nature things work like that for herbivores...
