Many names, a flower.

in #nature6 years ago
Perhaps listening to Paper Flower, Straw Flower, Immortelle Flower, Immortal Flower does not relate the names (depending on where you are) to this curious flower from Australia. However, it is a plant that can be seen in many places, since its easy cultivation and colorfulness make it one of the favorite plants to harvest in large gardens and parks. We also see it a lot on terraces and balconies.

The texture

I had seen her in floral arrangements, but recently I had the opportunity to detail many outdoors. They're colorful flowers, the kind that bring joy. And the most curious thing from my point of view, is that when you think of a flower you imagine the sensation of its soft petals, but in this case, when you touch them the texture is absolutely as if it were paper, in fact if you fold the petal a little, it "sounds" like paper.

In the park, a caretaker very kindly explained to me the curiosities of this beautiful flower. It can be kept in pots in the sun, gardens or patios and can measure between 30 and 80 centimeters.

How to take care of them:

✏ Lighting: The Immortelle flower is a plant that needs full sun exposure. If you have it in apartments without patios it should be placed near the window so that it receives sunshine several hours a day so that it can develop.

✏ Watering: The plant should be watered frequently, about 2-3 times a week, depending on the moisture in the soil.

✏ Soil: Only good drainage is required because excess moisture affects them.

✏ Pruning: Each withered flower must be pruned so that the plant can regenerate, the cut must be made from the base.

Flowering:

Its flowering takes place in spring and summer, if you want its flowering to extend for a longer period of time you should add fertilizers and vitamins. Its multiplication can be given by seeds or by separating the buds from the plant.

Once cut and used in decoration, your flowers can last intact for many weeks. But to continue their vivid shade, they must be hung upside down in a dark place until they dry out and then they can be used in decorative centers, bouquets, or in vases at home to brighten up interiors.
