Butterfly with a damaged wing.
Spotted this little fella yesterday while in the garden. It wasn't until last night when I was looking back at the photographs I'd taken that I noticed that he has part of his wing missing. It didn't seem to bother him much as he still was able to fly around.
And this butterfly with a damaged wing still fluttering around strong.
I love how the colours co-ordinate so perfectly with its surroundings - lovely photography!
A really good photo surprised it stayed there for that long!

Nice find! I think it is a male gatekeeper aka hedge brown (Pyronia tithonus). The damage is minor, I've seen much worse, and it doesn't affect them much.
Nature can be harsh sometimes, but all in all... it is an intrinsic element of its intricate beauty. This pic has a story to be told. True testament that a picture is worth a thousand words... Excellent photography @alienbutt
