RE: I think I've gone sprouting mad! V3 seed-sprouting device is born... 🌱

I LOVE sprouting veggies! And the kids love it too, you can put it in and on anything. And you're right, you don't even need a home. When I first got the idea to travel with the kids with campervan or caravan, I was already thinking that sprouting would be the best way to keep growing (some of) our own food and getting as many nutrients as possible.
I also love pea shoots. Those combined with radish, broccoli, rocket, alfalfa and other sprouts are amazing in or even as a salad.

I used to look at those pricey grow thingies. Then I found these little plastic drawers. I bought them in the hardware store LOL. They're plastic with each 3 transparent drawers and they're stackable. I guess they are usually used for nails and screws, etc. but the sprouts grow just fine in it too.

Are you buying bulk seeds and storing them? I think I might start that, because like you said: you never know...

I've not tried this with the kids yet. Hope they love it like yours!

At the moment I'm buying small batches of lots of different kinds of seeds. Seeing what works best.

But yes, when BTC goes to the moon I will stock up with big bags of all my faves.

One point is that each year we can always let some of the seeds grow long enough to produce more seeds! We will however, need a garden to do this.

Yes, of course it's possible to let plants grow for the seeds and I've tried that too, but the downside is that you'd need quite a lot of plants to produce the seeds needed for sprouting if you sprout a lot... But yeah, buying in bulk is an option and it can be stored for a long time.
