My Story Contest 3 - Okpe outdoor mountain adventure

The mountain i visited area lies within longitude 0060 04.00’ and 0060 12.989’ of the Greenwich Meridian and latitude 070 05.881’and 070 23.022’of the Equator in Edo State region, Nigeria. The area i visited is okpe village, it has good road network but no railway line was found. Most of the villages were not easily accessible but there were footpath leading to them, i just took a motorcycle from the hotel to the village about 20mins drive, the vegetation here was heavy vegetated with different trees, shrubs and grasses and the occupation of the natives are farming and hunting of games.

The type of rock present here is a granitic rock, minerals present in the rock include quartz,mica etc. Geologic imprints found were: fault, fold, xenolith.

Checklist for this adventure include:

1 my camera phone📱 (infinix note 3) for taking photos
2 walking staff: for holding when climbing and beating the bushes.
3 face cap 👒: prevent the face from your face
4 GPS, compass.
5 food and water supply!
6 A bag to put everything inside
7 safety boot👟👞👢: to protect from bite and injury,rigid support on that terrain!
8 Note pad and stationery📝

So we are ready, lets go on this adventure guys, lets do it👍🙌...i got some friends here on this adventure too.

The view from the top was wonderful!...beautiful landscape on a date with nature.

Climbing it wasn't easy, the elevation of the mountain is 532M, it took me about 30mins to get up there, and the terrain was steepy as the sun was brimming on me, and sweat came rolling down my body.

But when I got to the top, they was this cool breezed that made me feel alive again, I was thirsty when I got to the top, because I drank water on my way up the mountain with elevation of 532 Metres, thickly vegetated with big trees and shrubs, animals like monkey, antelope, snakes too.

I also saw a spring, where water was seeping out from the rock, the water was fresh and clean, i have to wash up with it because it was soothing and refreshing to the skin.

Had to take pictures with my friends on the adventure.
