MyPictureDay @Cagsawa Ruins
I was browsing last night in my Steemit account and looking for contests that I can take part in when I bump to the #mypictureday contest by @timsaid. Unexpectedly, my Fiance called in and asked me to be his photographer for today as he needs to make an entry for the Travelflex photo contest. So I thought it will be perfect as well to take photos for my entry in the contest.
This is the famous Cagsawa Ruins of Albay and behind is the perfect cone shape Mayon Volcano. This church is the remnant of the 16th-century Fransciscan Church. It was destroyed by the strongest Mayon Volcano eruption on February 1, 1814, that buried the whole town of Cagsawa under several hundred million cubic meters of tephra and lahar and killed more than 2000 people.
Just this January of 2018, this Volcano has its most recent eruptions that forced many residents to evacuate. This Cagsawa ruin is just about 9 kilometers away from the crater of the Volcano and at night a red reflection of its lava is still visible from its crater. This Mayon Volcano is called the "beautiful disaster" because of its majestic view as the lava fountains and flow down on its slope and scary at the same time as those lava flows could kill thousands of people.
