My Picture day - A stroll up 1st Ave
This is my first submission to #MyPictureDay challenge by @timsaid
I decided to do a mix of shots and styles for my first post so will start with a shot from my iPhone as I was walking out of Grand Central
I then walked and jumped on a bus heading down 2nd Ave
This and the rest of the photos in the post were taken with my Sony A6500 camera, I played with this one a little bit in photoshop a different style to what I normally do but thought I would mix up this post
I got off on Houston Street and the first thing I saw was this walkway down the middle of the street so I walked down it a bit ( photo just tweaked a little in lightroom)
From this walkway I saw cool selection of graffiti Just a quick edit on this one as well
You never know what you will see on the streets In the city I came across this somewhere along my stroll
I thought selective color worked OK with this shot
Then something I haven't seen anywhere else in my travels but is a common sight in NYC the steam coming up through these tubes from underground
I thought B&W would finish my mix of styles in this post
Was a nice morning and a 40 ish block walk was nice to start the day with and heading up to my office

Had planned to do a similar walk this morning but missed the early train by 30 seconds so it wasn't meant to be
I watched mine pull out one minute early, just as I parked the car! Boo!
It must be that kind of day as I happened i had an early VTC I had forgotten about so didnt have time for a walk either way

So true just waiting to catch the train into the city missed the earlier train by 39 seconds so probyno walk this morning

I loved, loved, loved, all the pictures of your outing. It really depicted what the city is like. The graffiti, the worker, the bus, the smoke and the storefronts all gave your post a total experience of your walk. I love the unconventional because it is more realistic of our environment. Great job!
