When planning a trip to the island of Tenerife, be sure to tune in to visit Teide volcano and a national park with the same name. Since the island itself is rather small, and the hotels are on the coast, a trip to the volcano will take the whole day. The island is known for the fact that in one trip it is possible to visit several climatic and landscape zones. The brightest way to track changes in weather and nature is to move deeper into the island where the volcano is located. Despite the mountainous terrain, the road is quite comfortable, and there are no crazy serpentines.

The first attraction that you will most likely get is the intersection of the cloud zone. The impressions are very similar to flying on a plane, when you are in the cloud for a few minutes, and then you rise above it and look at the amazing picture below: soft white cotton covers everything around.

Gradually, residential buildings are lost sight of, and you find yourself in a pine forest, clean, transparent, sunny. A couple of kilometers high old trees are replaced by a rare young, and around, as if someone again plowed the land. But when you touch the red pieces of the earth, you realize that this is not a fertile soil at all, but a hard rock resembling burnt clay. Gradually you understand that all this is a trick of a volcano.

Rockes de Garcia rocks are especially impressive, and the most favorite tourists is the elevation called "The Finger of God". His image can be seen on most souvenirs of Tenerife. It is very difficult to make an original photo of this rock, because so many people take photos from one angle.

On the way to the volcano you can meet very unusual plants and flowers, which grow only here. For example, this flower is the "Tower of Jewels". I wrote about him in the previous post.

Teide is a seismically active volcano, although the last time he woke up in 1909. By its parameters, the volcano is rather slow, because of this, during eruptions it was always possible to avoid human casualties. Having received this information, it is not at all scary to climb to the top.

Frozen lava around the volcano is very slippery, so independent rock climbing is quite difficult. Tourists are picked up by a cable car. The cable car accommodates about 30 people and moves at a low altitude.

Contrary to expectations, the funicular rises not to the very top, but to a height of 3,555 meters (above sea level). To the crater is still 163 meters. Further ascent is possible only in the group, by pre-registration here. At the top of Teide it's pretty cold, but there's nowhere to hide, so do not hesitate to dress warmer. Another interesting feature is air. It's like a solid substance, you can not breathe completely, and when you feel it, you begin to experience a slight panic.

The views from the top down are so amazing that you forget about all the inconveniences. For photographers and those wishing to think about the eternal - this is an ideal place.
