This my entry for "My Name is What" a writing contest by @steemitachievers

Hello steemit friends. I was nominated by @shirleynpenalosa, @mavicalipda and @mallowfitt for this challenge and let me share with all of you the meaning behind my name. My real name is Maria Jasmin and my nickname is Jay. According to my mother, she named me Maria Jasmin, because she likes the Jasmin flower. And then she added Maria because since all of us are three girls in the family she named us Tres Marias. And my father was the one who gave my nickname Jay because he wanted to have a boy in our family. My nickname Jay has confused a lot of people because they thought I'm a boy. So it became ajasmin14 because of my real name which is Jasmin, then the A stands for my middle name which is Alvarez and the number 14 is my lucky number because so many good things happened in this day, 14. So that's how I got my steemit name ajasmin14.

If I would be given the chance to change my name?
For me, I wouldn't change my name anymore because I love my name Maria Jasmin or Jay although my nickname confuses a lot of people sometimes. In my own opinion whatever name we have it may be a girl or a guy's name, what matters is the person's character behind that name. That's all. :-)
