"Blunders of My Life" Series
Mindful Monday
Recently I came across a wonderful initiative to learn lessons from our and other's mistakes. This is being run by @stupid under "My Mistakes, My Life - Lessons From My Mistakes".
Everyone will advise you to always be mindful and not to make any mistake in your life. But @stupid's initiative is different as it encourages you to make mistakes ...LOL!
Well, whatever it is, but I found this idea very intriguing and it has led me to introspect over my entire life. Not only past week, I was introspecting all my past life thinking about what was my biggest blunder so far. Unfortunately, I couldn't think of any so far and I'm still thinking over it. You can guess how poor is my memory!
So I tried to focus only on my past week to find any mistake.
Mistakes vs. Regret
After all these thinking about several incidents of my life, I realized that I have a very weird nature. I don't repent on any thing about my life so far. I find my life very interesting, smooth and uneventful as far as blunders are concerned. Now this is a serious issue as @stupid states that life gets dull and stagnant if you don't make any mistake. However, I don't feel my life as dull but I agree with @stupid that it's only the dead who do not make any mistake. So obviously, knowingly or unknowingly, I do make mistakes. It may be a different story that I don't repent over them but mistakes need to be noticed, appreciated and used as a tool for learning lessons for the future.
I acknowledge that I'm not actively learning lessons from my mistakes as I can't even recall my mistakes. Just like a child who after burning her hand in fire once, will instinctively withdraw her hand away from the fire; I may be sub-consciously learning lessons from my mistakes. But now I'll keep an eye on my mistakes whenever I commit one and see how I can learn an instant lesson from it.
Biggest Mistake of My Life
So biggest mistake of my life has been:
ignoring all my mistakes
I'm thankful to this challenge from @stupid to draw my attention towards my mistakes. No more will I let my mistakes pass unnoticed. I'll be consciously looking for my mistakes every moment. Let's see how much progress I make pointing out my mistakes. Once done, I'll try to take them seriously and learn some lessons from them. I'd like to share my learning here regularly. That's why I have named this post as "Blunders of My Life" Series.
You too are welcome to point out about my mistakes if you find any. You know, I'm too adamant to accept my mistakes and it will take some time to change that. But I should give it a try at least.
Would you like to share?
Have you ever thought about the biggest mistake of your life? It would be very helpful to me if you can share what you consider the biggest mistake of your life.
