Beutong is a sub-district within the Nagan Raya District, Aceh

Several years ago, this area was famous throughout the world because of the findings of the largest jade mine with yields reaching tens of tons every day, the impact of many merchants from various regions in Indonesia and even from abroad to hunt and or trade in jade precious stones.

So no doubt, billions of rupiahs of money rotate every day in the Nagan Raya area and its surroundings, the income per capita of the local people soars dramatically, this phenomenon is not only felt by the seekers or traders of precious stones, but all trade sectors feel it, because of the impact of the many immigrants who stays or just pauses to buy Jade

Now that the golden age has passed, jade which was once so easy to get in the banks of riverbanks or small forests began to be taken away by the precious stone hunters, the local community resumed their old activities, farming, gardening or returning to being fishermen, stretching the economy also returning to the standard, the golden age remains a memory.

I, who have been directly involved with this jade mine, have also returned to my hometown, continuing my old profession as a farmer, but the sweet memories of trading in Jade stone will continue to be remembered in my memory.
