The road ahead
Hi friends,
I've been thinking on what to post that might help some and inspired others. When I first join steemit, I though to post about personal finance and what to do to improve your financial status.
I've been reading lots of personal finance posts, articles and tips over the internet. I've also read few books which are in the personal finance area.
I've come to a conclusion, the road ahead might be steep, it seems to be harder and harder to be able to save money. I'm not saying that this might be your case. What I'm trying to say, is that Financial independence is a really tough topic. Most people will avoid talking about this.
If you read enough and try to make your own conclusions, there is no secret just a habit.
The secret
- Spend less than you earn
- Save what is left and make an emergency fund
- Do it 10 thousand times and you will become a pro ( If you spend 10 000 hours doing something you can qualify as a professional in that topic, at least I was told that)
So what is the real secret, most financial advisors and the successful stories that they will tell you are not focusing on what you should ( spend less and save money) do while you get there. But in this series I would like to start discussing "What to do while traveling to your desired financial status?"
I will try to constantly post my financial journey, follow #myfinancialroad for more financial posts.
Thanks for reading.
Hi Roberto,
Saving has been hard for me. Crytpo is getting me into the habit, as I like seeing the number of coins in my account rise. It's almost like a game (I'm not much of a gamer, though).
I agree with you, seeing that amount grow help you keep doing it. In my case tracking expenses, income and specially seeing balance (going up or down) without taking heavy debt is what keeps me trying harder month after moon. i'm happy to say its been a year without credit cards :]
"If you spend 10 000 hours doing something you can qualify as a professional in that topic" - Well, well, well. You kind of made my day here! It appears as though I am rapidly approaching professional status in a number of ridiculous curiosities. Thanks for the good feels. :) :)
Yeah that's true, I mean if you are learning to play guitar, and then if you spend 10 000 hours doing so you will become good at it. Is like practice makes you a professional.
