Claim Reward

The [CLAIM REWARD] button appeared recently and there had been a few posts about it. I first read about it here: Claim Rewards - The New Button on Steemit Just Shown Up To Me!

At first, I thought it could have been an April Fool post but then think not and waited patiently for a few days before mine appeared but thoughts of “Why, why, why do we need to claim our reward?” I wasn’t the only one. See the post from @runridefly here: Really stupid question, but will we have to sit here and claim rewards all night?

Now after the comments from @etcmike, I understand the intent but not the logic. Or, is it I understand the logic but not the intent. Yes, still bit confused but you can see the comments in that post here:

Meanwhile, some music for you to enjoy as you read. This piece is part of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, particular the first of the 4 violin concertos, called Spring.
让大家继续读的时候,欣赏一点音乐。这件作品是维瓦尔第的“四季”的一部分 - 4小提琴协奏曲中的第一首,名为“春天”。

Claim Reward simply

Now, my attempt to explain it in a simple hopefully layman or laywoman (if there’s so a thing. OK, don’t go hmm…. on me).

From what I understand now…

Now, your wallet is really your wallet. So… When you want to "withdraw" your “pay” from your “steem bank account”, the Steem starts showing up in your wallet.

OK, did I help in your understanding of the [CLAIM REWARD] button or did I confuse you even more?

good jobs my friend =)

Thank you and thanks for your comment.

it's my pleasure ;)

Thanks and thank your for your comment.

thank you for that. I was wondering about the claim button and hadn't stumbled upon any posts yet.

I do think it's pain.

I thought it was a good idea to help control the flow of Steem rewards going into abandoned account that forgot to turn of voting bots.

You're welcome.
I didn't see anything explaining to that effect but I get the feeling that many are wonder why the need.
So, I thought I'll just this experiment and see if it makes some sense.

I think if you don't keep clicking it your account gets cancelled?

;0)

Nooo........... :-) I'm clicking it NOW.

Many thanks @ace108, to me this is steemit behaving like a credit card company. The steem they have unclaimed, they can use this as a liquid asset - long, medium, short and ultra-short trading.
Through getting the community to pay for the filling of the rewards pool (completely unnecessary) at a cost of $210,000 to the community (and no benefit to the community) - now this unannounced change.
If I go off on a trekking holiday for a month, all the accrued rewards are at the disposal of steemit to utilise until I next log in and claim.
We are living in avaricious times.
PS Thank you for the Vivaldi!

Based on your description, I also liken it to be a bank. :-)
Thanks for your comment.

Enjoying your music choice
