The end of spring is the blooming time for honeysuckle, this beautiful and scented shrub. The air is filled with the sweet smell coming from the little white flowers.

Lonicera japonica or japanese honeysuckle is one of the most common species of this wonderful plant. Its sweet nectar and fragrance attract a wide variety of insects and birds.

Apart from the beauty of this shrub, it is widely used for its healing properties: detoxifier, antipyretic, it cleanses and purifies blood. It also alleviates pain and it is used fore curing sore throats, headaches or other inflammatory illnesses. The Chinese medicine use the buds of the plant (yin chaio and ganmaoling are Chinese formulas which combine honeysuckle with chrysanthemum flowers).
