When Red Becomes Black - MyDailyColor

in #mydailycolor6 years ago (edited)

I'm not some black and white photography specialist if I am some photography specialist at all. Very likely, I would also be late for this challenge initiated by @eii, but despite that, I wanted to respond on @eii's kind invitation and even a bit test my skills in black and white photo creation.

So, here it is - my entry to @eii's #mydailycolor challenge with my #sundayblackandwhite roses.

Red Roses in Black and White

Today, wanting to respond to @eii's invitation, and while I was looking for a somewhat good picture that I could use and with some small editing turn it into black and white photography, I came across this one. Of course, the original has been taken in full color, about 20 days ago.

It was a bit windy day, and I noticed these roses because they were vigorously swinging on that wind almost like they wanted to overjump the fence of the front yard close to which they were standing.

Just for the comparison purposes, I'm bringing you the original one too.

Red Roses

Now I'm curious!

Which one do you like more?

Congratulations @ana-maria!
You are welcome to MyDailyColor Challenge.

The BlackAndWhite is much more compelling.

Thank you! 😊

Both are nice but I do love the color red :)

Thanks for sharing @ana-maria !!

hahaha - You see, that's why they say that the beauty is in the eye of an observer. 🙂
Everyone of us see it and feel about it differently. 😊

Its not about liking one more, both are beautiful, just different

Yes, you are right. That's exactly what I was thinking when I asked myself what would I answer on my own question. While on the other hand, I can also agree with @eii that black & white is somewhat more compelling. 😊

Hmmm... 🤔 Awesome?! 🤔 But obviously not that awesome to be upvoted.
But thanks anyway!

I totally agree. It is almost logical to think that someone would upvote what he or she liked

Well, to be honest and after taking a better look at this user's account, I have to say that he appears to me like a heavy Steemit and @partiko app abuser (just a bit more sophisticated and better hidden one, at least by now).

He is capable of posting 10 or even more posts per day (mostly one-photo sheety kind of posts in which it's not a rare case that photos are not even his own and without a single attribution to the original author in a form of mandatory source link and stuff).

As well, if you take a look at his comment section you'll see how he is capable of posting 40 per hour same or similar short comments (more or less, generic ones, very alike the above one).

With them he is apparently chasing for attention and upvotes. And when it comes to second one (upvotes), I must say that he is quite successful (what you might see by taking a look into his incoming upvotes). That's simply because many users wouldn't pay the closer attention and happy to see the comment under their posts they would wrongly assume the upvote to their post preceded as well, and automatically and impulsively they would upvote his comment as their "thank you" - in most cases not knowing it was for nothing.

Having all of that on the mind and knowing that through @partiko app users are collecting points (that in future should be possible to exchange for upvotes), and where

  • posting a post through the app brings 30 points,
  • commenting through the app 10 points, while
  • upvoting through the app brings only 5 points

becomes quite clear what he is doing, in fact!

At least 10 such posts per day brings him, at least 300 points per day, while commenting for several hours in described manner (40 comments per hour x 10 points = 400 points x 3 hours at least doing it = 1,200 points).

When we add to that about 40-50 upvotes that he gives per day (in a small percentage that never lowers his total VP below 85%), we have additional 250 (50x5=250) points that he collects on a daily basis.

In other words and in short, that's how he on a daily basis collects in average 1,500 up to 2,000 @partiko points, what also explains his 4th position on @partiko's leaderboard (with current total of above 28,000 points in just a short few weeks).

Therefore, I would be free to guess that he might be thinking how he found a cheap way to gain upvotes which upvotes his content otherwise apparently doesn't gain, in case when and if those points @partiko app users would be able to convert into upvotes (of course, if his exploitation and misusage of the app is not going to be disclosed).
