Flowers - Show Us Your California

Hi friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @socalsteemit where we share an aspect of our California.

The weather here is great most days, but it is still winter, so we get the occasional cold snap and rain. Most of the flowers do not bloom this time of year, but there is one particular tree that is blooming like crazy - the Alexander Magnolia:

It’s funny because the tree looks pretty boring - mostly just branches without significant leaves - that is, until is starts blooming! It is an amazing display during an otherwise bland plant and flower season.

These trees have been getting more popular around me - to me, they give off a Japanese zen garden type of feel, which I really like.
