RAISING UP THE MYANMAR STEEMIT COMMUNITY ( Henry Aung )

As most of my friends knew that I had been trying to form the Myanmar steemit community since last a few months ago. My intention was nothing special but I just wanted Myanmar youth to gain something like other people did. Previously, I didn’t believe any online working or earning or searching money or whatever it was. If someone suggested me to try a website that able to gain money, I just said sorry. Even in online game if they asking for referral I shut the webpage down. It was 11 months ago, when @dubi (my ex-colleague) introduced me about steemit, at first I was in doubt on it. But when I checked, steemit platform was needed neither deposit nor referral system. And I wanted to know what the cryptocurrency was.

So, I decided to test steemit. From very first day I was hooked. I was supported by the (Steemit Korea team) on my very first post the introducing myself to steemit community. It was @clayop who encouraged me to post original contents and sharing my experiences on steemit platform. Honestly, a steeminian like me who posting with poor English would not survive long in steemit. From the bottom of my heart, today I am here because of the (Steemit Korea team). They had been supporting me from very first day even during I was straggling with Myanmar newbies.

When I decide myself to form the Myanmar steemit community, I thought it would be according to my plan. I will train first 10 people, and then follow up by another 10. So, the first 10 people will support the next 10 people. But things were not always happen according to what I expected. When I introduced the steemit to mynamar people through my facebook page, it became a trigger point among the Myanmar cryptocurrency traders. As I mentioned early, steemit doesn’t need deposit and referral system and it only need a post to gain SBD which the high value of USD 2.5$ at that time. Within a few weeks, lots of newbies appeared onto steemit but only a few newbies listened to me. As most of them came from the Facebook, they acted like Facebook in steemit. Whatever they found in Facebook and brought over to steemit, posted them to get cheetah bot. Even how I tried posting the beginner guides for newbies, only few people read and understand about it.

Majorities were detached by cheetah bot and steem-cleaner some even reached the reputation level to zero. With no knowledge and ideas in steemit, some said thanks to cheetah and steem-cleaner comments. And myself, unable to help all the newbies with the steem power of 5000. If someone got $0.50 cent voted, that was the luckiest day for him. And those “ I vote you please vote me back “ comments were flying around all the time. A small voter groups were formed to help each other but still couldn’t find the way to improve.

With no steem power and reducing the voting power daily, finally the community became out of control. With no other choice, I chose some accounts who listen my instruction and trained them one account by one account daily. I trained and suggested them to start write the original contents as plagiarisms were strictly prohibited in steemit platform. Again, they tried their best to write original content with English but still can’t get votes from others. We have no steems investor to support Myanmar steemit community.

Most of the time I was thinking to asks the help from Korean team but I knew that I shouldn’t do that. They already good enough to me and it was impossible to help the whole community as they have their own newbies to raise. Some got random vote from others and it was @good-karma who gave some small vote to almost every account of Myanmar community. Although posting the original content with no received votes from others some left the steemit platform. I was scratching my head every day to find the way how to raise the Myanmar community up.

Luckily I found @donkeypong (Tom) who was helping the non-English speaking community in steemit and I dropped a comment in one of his post regarding our Myanmar community situation. He immediately responded to have conversation in steemit chat. After having a long conversation in steemit chat he agreed to help the Myanmar community. It was my duty to gather the posts of Myanmar original contents with short review and together with the post ranks for @donkeypong (Tom) to distribute the equal vote of $5 to $10 SBD per post according to the post ranks. With effective helps from @donkeypong (Tom)! we got the fresh blood again to start the new journey on steemit platform. Every two days one time we got posts promotion and most of the community members became original content authors because they knew that only original contents were meant for post promotion.

Again, I faced the new problem that they said their posts were original content but how do I know. If they copied from printed media of course the real cheetah bot might not know that. I realized that I need to form a team to lead the whole community. Then I chose the accounts who wanted to volunteer to lead the community. We created a chat group and discussed about our community future almost every night. Finally we got our own organization chart.

With organization chart, we agreed some in –house rules and regulations for our community members.

1. Only original content with author name are allowed ( you may use the photos for your post but it must be labeled for reused or free from copyright)
2. Only original creations are allowed (photos, art, picture, songs etc…)
3. No crediting post are allowed
4. No 18+ writing or photos are allowed
5. No political and religious accusing contents are allowed ( you may share the knowledge about the good point but not the way in abusing or accusing)
6. No news from Facebook or printed media are allowed unless you are the original news reporter.
7. We are allowed the translation post but must indicate the link or source ( translation need effort )
8. No foreign model or local model pictures or photos are allowed to post ( unless you have the written permission from them )
9. No referral searching post are allowed
10. Any kind of spam and abuse post are not allowed

We implemented those rules because we want the steemit platform to be different from other social media. Steemit is only meant for those who want to share or gain the true knowledges or experiences without disturbing by others, enjoying the clean social media and yet earning the cryptocurrency. Under our organization chat we have four major parts.

1. Newbies support team

This team will scan through under the Myanmar tag list. If they found a new account invite him/her to their own newbies support chat group and guide him/her. And educate him/her how to start from introducing post and follow up with original content. At the same time let the account owner know the in house rules. If the account owner neglects to follow, he/she will not get a single vote from community member.

2. Technical support team

90 % of Myanmar steeminians are using e-steem to up load the post. Only a few people are using computer. Thus, any problems of mobile phone or e-steem app those technical specialists will help them. This team already created the user-guide for how to use e-steem app in mobile phone.

3. Cheetah – Myanmar

This team acts same as cheetah bot. The original cheetah bot will catch those plagiarisms from web. Cheetah-Myanmar will seize those copy posts from printed media like local journals or other famous author’s printed books. Cheetah-Myanmar may not know about all the posts are free from copy but if we find out one day the account owner will be bar from the community. If they found a crediting post or copy post they drop a comment first and guide the account owner to their chat group.

4. Steem cleaner – Myanmar

Perform same as steem-cleaner for those spams, abusing, 18+ contents or referral searching post. We need this team because the original steem-cleaner may not know the spams or abusing post that written with Myanmar alphabet. So, it is the duty of steem cleaner- Myanmar to warn the post owner not to do so.

If the particular respective team unable to solve the problems, they will bring up to me through their organizer. Then I will ask help from @donkeypong( Tom ) to solve the individual problem. With his help we are on the track to go along with global steemit community. We, Myanmar steemit community promise that we will contribute only valuable and good items to steemit community.
