My 2018: A Tour around my town: city in the north-western part of the Donetsk region in Ukraine.

I live in a small mining town. My husband is from here. After the wedding, I moved to live in this city in the Donbass. I myself come from the Dnepropetrovsk region. I have never been to the Donbass before my marriage. First impressions of Donbass. The same steppes as in the Dnepropetrovsk region, but covered with small earthen mounds.

It turns out that they are moles. Well, this is the mining area and everyone here are miners :). The second thing that caught my attention was the men's painted eyes. Of course, it's beautiful, but usually women dye their eyes.

Then I learned that coal dust is not easy to wash, so our men's eyes are so beautiful :).

Previously, a breed of mines was exported to the surface, so heaps were formed.

In our city there are two mines. Coal is extracted there at a depth of more than 1000 m.

There are no other enterprises in the city. Therefore, the main event in the city is the Miner's Day. This day is celebrated in late August. Usually famous singers are invited. At the end of the holiday, salutes are given.

But with the beginning of the war, holidays are not held on such a scale. There are no speeche about fireworks at all. After the sound of flying shells, people can not calmly hear the clapping of salutes.

Several shells were fired from this weapon. Only a technical malfunction saved the city from large losses.

And only now, when the deployed hostilities have stopped, people are returning to the fun. In the new year there was a salute in the town square.

In the city there are three churches and a miner's chapel:

On the night of 18 to 19 January, the Orthodox celebrated the feast of the Epiphany. It is believed that the baptismal water has the same miraculous power as the waters of the Jordan, which touched Jesus Christ. Everyone who is bathed in it will be healed. I do not advise diving an unprepared person into an ice hole.

There is a beautiful Cafe Petushok, it was built by the miners themselves, remaining after work. Here are the masters.

The city park has come to desolation, but since last year, workers of the enterprises, schoolboys came on Saturdays to clean in park. They removed thickets. Have cleared the rates.

At the entrance to the park there is a plane on the pedestal in memory of the victory in the war of 1938-1945 over Nazi Germany

Among the villages that are located nearby, is the village of the Golden Well. Here during the campaign against the Swedes, Tsar Peter I stopped. He liked the water from the well so much that he called the village a Golden well.

We also have the famous Heck balk. It is famous for flowers that grow here. Flowers are called Voronets. They are almost absent in other places, this plant is listed in the red book.

Mostly I put out photos taken in the winter. Now we have winter. But especially we have a beautiful spring, when the gardens blossom, when nature wakes up after winter. It's beautiful in summer, when the whole city is in roses, it's beautiful and in autumn, when trees are dressed in golden clothes.
