Been planning for quite awhile now of blogging my town but never had the chance or time to do so but, because of this contest hosted by @anomadsoul, I have a greater conviction to blog about it. I am sharing some pictures and videos of how this "hungry poor man's haven" loos like.

First, let me share with you some information about this little spot, Tisa, Cebu City. It is one of the 80 barangays of Cebu City. Its population was reported to be 37,766 last 2015. But what's extra special about Tisa is its popularity for having the best "siomai" in the entire Cebu City and even in the entire province. Aside from that, it is also a home to four of the best "halo-halo" desserts in the city.

Today, let me give you a glimpse of the barangay from being a laid-back village to being one of the most sought places for dining as well as its resort which gives the locals a way to relax and skip the stressful city life in just a few steps away from their household!

LAID-BACK VILLAGE

Tisa has an uphill section and this gives us, the locals a way of getting away from the city life. Its quite nice to realize that just a few minutes of drive, we are at the center of the city while we can also enjoy a village kind of living in just a few minutes walk from our subdivision.

From there, we can see the beauty of the entire Cebu City. The skyscrapers are quite visible from here even the new SM Seaside mall as well as we get to see the horizon and the ocean!

My husband and I love climbing here as it helps us see more of the city as well as it helps our health-wise through walking and running. Plus, it feels like we are on top of the city!

When walking to the hill, we can see a lot of animals around, goats, cows, chickens, dogs, cats. All of them domesticated, we would often meet some of the owners who would just leave these animals feeding on the grasses!

Another new thing we could do from there is fly our new drone and take photos of the villages nearby.

SIOMAI CAPITAL of CEBU CITY

Tisa has earned their way to be referred as the "siomai" capital of Cebu City. Because of this, they had also managed to celebrate their "Siomai Festival" annually!

Because their "siomais" are very sought out, the streets of the barangay would often be filled with people coming from the different areas of the city just to buy siomai as well as other kinds of street foods!

A pack of 3 dynamite costs Php20 or $0.50.

My husband and I were also fans of siomai and would often buy this for lunch and dinner.

Tisa is also referred as a barangay which never sleeps because food stalls are open 24/7 and diners are coming here especially at night time.

RING REST HOUSE

One good thing about Tisa is the fact that it has its own means of relaxation through Ring Rest House. It is not the luxurious type of resort but it offers services which can help guests forget about their problems and get away from the traffic issues.

Just a few minutes walk from the main road, you'll get to Ring Resthouse which has a unique design, it has been called such because the pools were constructed in circles. The resort overall has a circular design thus the name.

A videoke bar as well is provided for guests to sing their hearts out and we Filipinos love to sing so this is indeed a perfect getaway to loosen up and relieve stress!
