My 2018: A Tour around my town: Canberra, Australia's (Conspiracy) Capital City
Canberra is a beautiful city, designed by Walter Burley Griffin to be the seat of the Australian Government. The geometry of the design has led many to speculate that Canberra, in particular the area around Parliament House and the Parliamentary Triangle, is in fact designed in homage to Freemasonry.
Just the Parliamentary TRIANGLE should tell those who follow such things a little of what is to follow, as I take you on a tour of Freemason Imagery within the Centre of the Australian Capital City. This is my entry to the My2018: A tour around my Town contest being run by anomadsoul. There has already been some great entries, so get along and check them out too.
CANBERRA
The triangle is as follows, with some significant landmarks noted
So what, there is a triangle you ask. Well, things get more interesting when we look into the triangle and the symolism found inside it, and surrounding it.
First, let us look at Parliament House. Many have already spoken of its shape and the symbolism therein. I want to just briefly look at the external feature most prominent, the pyramid that makes up the flag pole.
Parliament House as seen from Commonwealth Avenue Bridge.
Yep, that's a pyramid alright. But that is not the only pyramid. If we go down to the lakes shore, this bank of the lake has some fancy lights, none of the other shore lines of any of the other lakes have these lights, nor so many. So lets take a look at these Illuminating objects and see what I an referring to...
Yep, more pyramids, with a sun above.
Sign on Central Basin Foreshores Same symbolism is seen in this sign. I mean, what does it mean? No map or anything, just a keyhole.
At least this has a map.
So, two arms of the triangle are bridges over Lake Burley Griffin, Commonwealth and Kings avenues. Kings links Parliament to the Defence offices whilst Commonwealth runs directly to the city centre.

At either end on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge we find 2 pillars. Another well known symbol to conspiracy nuts.
Okay, now we have triangles and pillars, looking pretty good.
What else is there?
How does an obelisk bearing an eagle tickle you? Yep. In Sir Thomas Blamey Square, central square of the Department of Defence complex of buildings, stands an Obelisk and atop it, overlooking Parliament House, straight down one arm of the triangle sits an Eagle. Or is it a phoenix? Or just a chook on a stick? Or Bugs Bunny (an affectionate name the locals know it by due to its silhouette on the night sky)?
And now we get to a few lesser symbols.
The Fountain of knowledge

And in a straight line from Parliament, through the middle of the triangle, we find The Australian War Memorial, with its Domed Shrine of Remeberance. Directy behind the Memorial, and continuing the straight line to its peak, is Mount Ainslie, renowned for it dark history of witchcraft and satanic rites purportedly being practiced on its wooded slopes.

And every Freemason's lodge once marked midnight with a bell, we have 55 of them in the Carillon.
National Carillon with flight of Ducks
And at Regatta Point is a globe map of the World.
The High court, highest court of Law in the land.
And the Australian Art Gallery
So there you go ladies, gentlemen and conspiracy freaks. Law, Art, Science, knowledge and Governance all within a nice little Triangle. Watch your step as you leave the tour bus, and don't forget your tinfoil hats. Hope you enjoyed our little tour.
Just before you go though, for those Mandela Effect adherents, just gonna debunk a little of your theory here.
Old Parliament House - Opened 1923. The "temporary" home of Parliament until 1988 when New Parliament House (background) was opened. Melbourne, Sydney or that town-you-can't-quite-remember-the-name-of-but-not-Canberra were never the capital of Australia. We might be little known, but we are the Bush Capital.
And Flying Foxes are not a new animal, we commonly have them fly over at sunset.
Thank you for taking part in this months #culturevulture challenge. Good Luck.
thanks for running this months #culturevulture challenge. Fun times.
Ahhhh, my favourite town!
Mine too. I love it here.
Those pyramid lights are weird as fk!
Yeah, and there is a big long row of them, all the way down that shoreline. You can see it in the AOTY Walk photo. Only shore on any of our 4 major lakes and numerous pondages to have this type of lighting.
