@rocking-dave's #my2017top5 Contest and Challenge!
I'm participating in @rocking-dave's #my2017top5 challenge and contest! I was nominated by @freedompoint, and I'm really excited about that! I like participating in challenges, especially ones related to SteemIt. I loves me some Steem. Thank you, @freedompoint for introducing me to this contest and thank you to @rocking-dave for having such a great idea!
For this particular challenge, I had to think back on this last year of being on SteemIt and choose which posts are my personal favorites. Posts that made me happy, or reflected our lives in a fun way. Here are my favorites from 2017!
Chicken Shit Sunday - Second Edition
I photograph chicken shits and post them on Sundays. I call it Chicken Shit Sunday. Chicken shit is actually what brought me to SteemIt. I was encouraged by @jessamynorchard and @jasonrussell to share the photos I was posting on Instagram and Facebook on Steemit and actually make some money off them! Little did I know how deep the rabbit hole went and before long, I was hooked and have been ever since.
Googly Eyes Contest - Sherman Wallace
I. Love. Googly. Eyes. I love finding faces in objects that aren't supposed to have faces. Googly eyes make me happy. @fraenk's Googly Eyes contest got me started actively looking for things to put googlies on and sharing them. I've placed a few times and earned enough SBD to buy a pair of giant googly eyes, which I promptly (temporarily) attached to my car.
My Beautiful Chickens Have Mites
Okay. So the chickens actually having mites did not make me happy. In fact, it made me anything but happy. However, finally figuring out what was going on with our chickens causing them to stop laying DID make me happy. Once the mite were eradicated...and after their subsequent molting...they have began laying again. That most definitely makes me happy.
A Brief History of Bison at Yellowstone National Park
I did a fuck-ton of research for this post. We had been gone for over two weeks on vacation in Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. I took sooooo many photos. It was crazy. I really liked seeing the bison and being so close to them was amazing.
Introduce Your Dog - Willie Nelson
We have nine dogs. All nine are well loved, but as dogs will do, we have those that are more attached to individuals than others. Willie Nelson is my dog. He's my constant companion, the one whose butt wiggles the fastest when I come home, the one who goes hiking with me completely off-leash because he stays right there. He's my good boy. He most definitely makes me happy. Right now he is staring at me from under our wood stove. I can't make a move without him knowing it.
So those are my favorite posts from 2017!
I nominate:
@rockchickjen
@jasonrussell
@melodyrussell
@gardengirlcanada
@brimwoodfarm
I hope you'll participate in this contest, even if you are not nominated. See @rocking-dave's original post for contest rules.
