• 6 things everyone needs to know before they die

I attended an interesting event a few days ago. Ten speakers spoke for ten minutes about six things you need to know before you die.

Speakers included film and television actors, CEOs, photojournalists of cover photos, journalists traveling to cover natural disasters, and survivors of HIV. As you can imagine, there were many shared points of view.

Here are some of the lessons that stood out for me. Most of these lessons can profoundly change your mindset, your way of seeing the world and how you choose to react to things. You just need to step back and relativize, which leads us to our first lesson.

•  Take care of yourself.

I sometimes hear people talking as if the way they treat each other does not matter. Smokers say, "I'm going to die anyway. People who eat poorly say, "Why punish yourself with healthy food? It's not death you should be afraid of. That's all that leads to it. How horrible would it be to live your last 6 months in agony, or your last 6 years motionless?

• Take care of others.

In this life, we can not do much without others. Reality in all its cruelty emphasizes the need to take care of one's loved ones. We should make this world as wonderful as possible.

• Be yourself.

There are too many people in life who are not themselves. They claim they are what they are not because they are afraid of being judged. Do not be afraid to be yourself, be proud of yourself.

•  Do not be afraid.

Fear kills the mind, after all.

• Do your best.

In life, we must do our best in everything we do. If we do our best, we have no reason to feel anxious about it. Living a life without fear is ideal, is not it? Do your best.

• Let the world be better than you found it.

We all have a real responsibility: to leave the world better than we found it. I want to see the environment healthier, poverty eradicated, the opportunity for people to flourish over time before being on my deathbed .
