When living off grid, dates are rare and very much cherrished
My wife and I don't get out on dates much as our life style requires that we have somebody here all the time. Having animals and plants being fully dependent upon us is a full time job, which we love. So when the opportunity comes along to get away, it is extra special and not to be taken for granted.
Making a trip into the city takes lots of planning as it always takes all day. Always, no matter what we do. So with the plans in place, we head out to listen to some live music as one of my best friends plays trumpet for the Gateway Big Band in Edmonton.
We had a blast! What a spectacular night. I love the live music and they all did a great job. Let me see if I can remember some of the songs that they played.

Well, Life is really beautiful especially when you are married, have a wife and kids. Spending time with them gives you pleasure. I am always in the favor of outing because it reshapes and refreshes our thoughts in a very positive way. Here is something i have for you two Love Birds ;) <3

I'm old school as well brother. Older school than even most would want to experience. lol. Most of what we do now is what people used to do 100 years ago. This is the way to live!

It is. My ancestors have been colonized for so long, that I don't know most of our old customs. But it is fun to build new ones and learn from the elders. I listen to all kinds of music, my favorite being from the 60's - 80's.
Wow it seems that our choice of music is quite similar. Sometimes i do feel that i have a very deep connection with old things, that is why it take me sometime to adapt any new fashion or habit. I am old school guy with young body :P :D
I am so thrilled for you both! it is so hard to get out, and it DOES take all day. What a great playlist!! makes me smile. Big band (orchestra), there seems to be less and less of them.

No he said, she said. Carey is having a hard time writing, so we stopped doing them. Now that the snow is gone, we are way too busy to keep up the blogs like we did during the winter. Perhaps again in the fall when life slows down.

glad to hear you got some you (X two) time! I am sure that even our ancestors that had to live off the grid because their was no grid still enjoyed a reprieve no matter how short every now and then.

I think our ancestors, living off the grid, spent lots of time making music, dancing and spending time with the community. I think they did it way more than we do now. We lost something with the infiltration of colonialism and technology.
Date-nights on the homestead are definitely a rare and much-appreciated treat. When they do come, they are cherished. This sounds like a wonderful evening away. I have always enjoyed live music.
I find that because they are rare, that makes them EXTRA special. Live music is wonderful to listen to. I really enjoyed myself.

My high school punk band did a short cover of the Sesame Street song, and it was always a big hit - we usually opened a show with it lol Good memories, glad you had a good night yourselves~!
