Matt Andersen live @ Tivoli Utrecht, Netherlands

Yesterday I went to the concert of Matt Andersen together with my friend Rien. I was already looking forward to this night a long time, Matt Andersen was one of those musicians on my bucketlist, and finally the day came :)

We went to Utrecht by train, it's a hour trip by train. The funny thing is that a normal train ticket from Zutphen to Utrecht cost about 40 euro's but online you always can get discount tickets which were 18 euro's, so why would you buy a normal ticket then :)

When we arrived at the venue we first had a bite and a drink, a big bad burger with some fries (which tasted really good) and a beer. When we entered the concerthall our seats were just in front of the stage, the first two chairs...I thought that was amazing, Rien did a good job buying those tickets :)

Matt had a real support act :) in the name of Dries Bongaerts. I had never heard of the man but he was awesome. He is from Belgium and a singer/songwriter which I thought sounded a bit like the good old Jim Croce. He played awesome guitar and his voice was awesome...

After a half a hour he finished his set, showtime.... There was a small break in between so we could get another drink. After 15 minutes we were back at our seats, the lights turned down and there he walked on stage..... I did know he was a huge man, but so close by he was even more impressive.

When he started to sing I got goosebumbs all over, he has such a awesome voice and his guitarplaying is so melodic, bluesy.... It just has it all.....

I recorded a video of my own but it's quiet difficult to mix it into a post with Dtube etc so I borrowed a video which just got out on Youtube from someone who was at the concert too, the video shows it all... He is a funny, musical guy with a one in a million voice.. Matt playing "Broken man" in Utrecht yesterday evening.

Eventually he played for almost two hours, songs of his new album but also some old stuff, but every single note with the same passion and spirit...

This has been one of the best, if not the best, concert I have seen in a long time..... If you ever have the chance to see Matt Andersen please do, you won't regret it....

Now duty calls again with only 4 hours sleep haha, but it was worth it...more then that actually....

I am going to have some afterparty music on, enjoying the impressions from yesterday....
