Awesome Metal Bands part 1: Eluveitie
Hello my fellow Steemians,
as you may know or may not know, we are huge Metal fans. And this is why we want to introduce you to this wonderful and chillig genre :)
So we decided to do a series about our favourite metal bands.
Today we would like to introduce you to the Folk-metal band:
Eluveitie
Song "Epona" from latest album "Evocation II - Pantheon" from August 2017
Founded in 2002 as a studio-project in Switzerland, Eluveitie was well-known soon for their unique mix between Melodic Death Metal and ancient Folk melodies. In their songs they often thematise celtic myths or local history.
And that's what makes them so speciall. Above i pinned a song from their latest album in which every song is named after a celtic god. For example Epona was a celtic fertility goddess ;)
I saw them live around 5 times the last 6 years and everytime it was a great show! Although the sound engineers have a big fight in the beginning of the shows because they have to combine 9 instruments, amongst others some special instruments like a hurdy-gurdy or pipes - but they solve it everytime and the party can go on!
Here an older song King which is a little heavier and not acoustic like Epona above.
I think here you can better listen to the great mix between metal and folk music.
The stunning violine and pipe solo in combination with the heavy guitar riffs and the hurdy-gurdy for the passages = i know why i love these guys
