- Amos F. Herr wrote this song on a stormy Sunday morning in 1890 when the storm wouldn't let him go to church. He therefore created for himself an atmosphere of worship to the Lord in appreciation of His marvelous works.

The Lord be praised.
Every rising of the sun presents another opportunity to do great things and do things better than before. It is the Lord that has kept us by His mercies, which are new every morning. Take time every morning to appreciate and thank Him for the life you live, He is the giver of life.
Praise ye the Lord!
Make a decision this day, never to fall out of the faith, but to keep standing for Him come what may, to continually do His will, so that He may recieve you at the end.
