Very, very interesting. Hawkins' works were absolutely vital in my journey, snapping me out of a linear, hyper-logical approach towards life. He has around 7 or 8 books, all of which address more or less the same information from various angles and focuses. I read many of them several times. This was around 7 years ago, when I first awakened from "atheism/agnosticism" into a sincere inquiry into the nature of reality outside of any "ism" or sect.
What you were getting at in this post is incredibly important, the fact that, outside of all conceptualization, everything simply is. That means that every facet of existence is integral to the totality of all that is, including what is judged to be "low-vibrational," "unspiritual," "negative," "egotistical," etc. etc.
If our holier-than-thou ideas stop us from enjoying the flow of life, no-holds-barred, then are they really helping us? Then again, it is ok to prefer silence, sobriety, calmness etc. I am a musician, studied Jazz Piano composition in college, sing, play trombone, etc. but most of the time, I just prefer Silence. But, if music is on, I will vibe right with it with no effort! Because it is silly and counterproductive to give something external power over our peace of mind.
In the ultimate state, all "knowledge," however refined, profound, subtle or exacting, is found to be utterly false in the face of the exquisite inexpressible perfection of Reality. It is ok to use concepts as tools, and the mind will continue doing so since that is how it operates, but to elevate any of them on a pedestal is to do a great disservice to the vast beauty of our incredible Cosmos.
This post was very synergistic for me so I felt inspired to type an in-depth response, hope it wasn't too over-the-top :D Alchemy, indeed! I dig your no-nonsense method of expression. Following you, and thanks for your support earlier, by the way!
P.S. You might be interested in an "alternative perspective" on the idea of consciousness levels, especially pertaining to the diverse levels of "nonduality/enlightenment" that exist once one has the realization "I am not the doer." It is a slightly different system than Hawkins'. The book is called "1000" by Ramaji.
P.S.S. Evil or not, that Skrillex Kendrick remix is Fiya :D My favorite part is 2:08 to the end.
Now, that is a comment. Here is a man that "gets it." :-)
Over-the-top, no way. One of the best thought-provoking replies I've gotten in a while. Some great insights and perspectives in there. Appreciate it. And you've definitely earned yourself a follower.
Adding the book to the Wish List. Got far too many on the go to start yet another new one right now, though looks like could be good...
Someone on reddit made a good point about this song, basically that it's cool because everybody who remembers it will have the hook of "Be Humble" stuck in their head. kind of an interesting idea, like if all of society is humming "be humble" to themselves all day, do we act better?
The album as a whole is full of bangers btw. DNA is one of Kendrick's best tracks ever.
I was hoping to find a list to share back in response to your comment that had a listing of different music and their calibrations, similar to a section in Power Vs. Force, though this is about all I could find:
Wow I did not realize this is a field that has been explored by people as it seems you must has some sort of belief or understanding in somthing more then just body’s consciousness. On a different note I feel as a muscian you some times want to make people feel different emotions and responses and if you create somthing that is too high on a scale that does communicate to the persons you loose them. But I do also understand you can lift a person with your creations too so maybe there is an exact spot on the scale you have to hit your audience at for the best response?
If one was aiming to connect with an audience, at say 200, they’d probably “fail” if banging out at 500. But then again, why would any artist want to lower themselves and sacrifice the integrity of their work?
Whatever flows out is moreless an extraction of their level of consciousness - not even possible to be deliberately lowered or raised significantly. If creating authentically, the vibe’ll be what it’s at - and thus, perhaps setting the base frequency to attract the audience who’s at the same level or prepped to be lifted up to it.
And of course, “best” response is subjective. Music put out will have what effect it will, which is a millions different things to millions of different people. I dunno how much an artist could even try consciously focus his vibe into a particular sweet spot to please an audience, so much as simply remaining true to their own work and letting it do its work...
Thats a fair point, what may hit a person hard may not hit another at all based on the lives they've led or the reality they have. did you happen to hear the show where DMX did slam poetry on the Music industry? Really was clear to see that any message can be propelled thru music.

Wow, I really like the association of scales of consciousness and where certain music sits in regards to positivity and negativity. Awesome article.

I recall that generally, rap music and heavy metal calibrated quite low, while classical was definitely up there in the 400s or 500s...

Many different views on the matter...
